Danielle A Prontka is one of the conductors of the Memorial Orchestras. Past Positions have included conductor of the Highlands Orchestra and Musical Director for the Virtuosi of Houston. She began her career playing the violin at age 5.
Danielle received a Bachelor of Arts in music performance from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. She was the recipient of a full four-year music and academic scholarship which included being First Violinist of the NSU quartet and four-year principal and concertmaster of the NSU Symphony. She was the recipient of the NSU string solo competition in her Junior Year. She has performed with the South Arkansas Symphonies, as well as numerous professional quartets and ensembles.
Danielle has been a guest conductor, clinician and adjudicator throughout the state of Texas. She has served as the Region Orchestra Division Chair, SBISD String Teacher Liaison, and been the presenter in numerous Professional Development s throughout the state. She has been a member of the All-State Violin Judging Panel and the Head Judge for an All State Audition Panel. She has been a teacher at Sam Houston State University Camp and University of Texas Arlington Summer Camp.
Danielle is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including conducting at Chicago’s Symphony Hall and twice in Carnegie Hall. Her Orchestras have consistently won Sweepstakes at UIL competition. She is a recipient of the PTA Lifetime Achievement Award and the SBISD Teacher Appreciation Award. Most recently, Danielle won the Memorial High School Teacher of the year and was names the SBISD District Teacher of the Year.
