Mustang Mentors is a leadership team that works with all 9th graders during the fall semester on Thursday mornings. These chosen students assist teaching the programming material that is sponsored by MHS PTA and the Community Network. It is part of The Fundamental Assets of Emotional and Social Learning found on the SBISD Educational Goals Curriculum taught as part of all SBISD school curriculums. Our programming is unique to MHS and is supported with materials from the Community Network, SBISD and the MHS PTA.
Students interested in participating in the program are able to apply during the spring semester of their Sophomore Year.
Applications will be available for the 2013-2014 Academic School Year on February 1st. Applications are due on March 4th to Mrs. Nicole Morgan. Teacher Recommendations will be collected from March 18-20th and meetings for all applicants will take place April 3-5th. All mentors are required to attend summer training. This summer's camp dates will be July 8-11th from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and July 22-25th from 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and are held off-campus at a private retreat location. We will also have required meetings on August 24th and September 15th. Additional paperwork will be sent to all students invited to participate.
