Memorial High School is a charter member of the National Forensic League, and honor organization open to students who compete in the forensic, or public speaking arts. Students enrolled in Debate I-IV compete in a multitude of events against other schools at the local, state, and national level. These events include policy debate,Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, as well as a host of individual events. Memorial is very proud of its tradition of success at all levels, including state championships and students who have qualified for the National Tournament 40 out of the 50 years the school has been in existence, including National qualifiers for the past 10 years in a row, and three National Championships. Cecil Trent is the MHS debate coach, and Debate Headquarters is in room Aqua 206.
