Make-Ups

Make Ups and Retakes for my classes are held every Thursday morning at 6:45 am.  I am happy to schedule make ups with the individual student at a different time but I expect make ups to occur within a week after the test is given.  In the case of retests, a student has 2 days from the time they receive their test grade to schedule a retest.  Students taking a retest are also required to do certain  review and tutorial work prior to the time they take their retest. A complete copy of the Districts Retesting Policy will be given to each student during the first two weeks of school.Try to make up your tests and quizzes on Thursday mornings.

AP US HISTORY--This is a college level course with college level work and a heavy amount of reading   Students have been given a syllabus of the course.  We will cover a chapter or two each week during the semester.  Students are expected to read the chapter(s) prior to Monday when the chapter is discussed. Classes will be a combination of lecture and group discussion.  Students will also be given individual and group projects throughout the semester.  Each Friday we will have an assessment.  When Friday falls on an even date, the students will have a test.  When Friday falls on an odd date, we will have a project assessment.  At the end of the semester, we will have a final made up of two parts.  Part one will be an inclass essay given the week before finals.  Part two will be the objective part of the final given on the assigned day during finals week... AP US History will follow a different schedule. I will given each student in US History a syllabus which details the chapters to be covered each week and the dates of quizzes and tests.  On occasion, pop quizzes will be given to insure that students are reading the chapters and taking notes. In addition, students in all of my courses are expected to maintain a notebook for my course.  At least once every six weeks notebooks will be collected for a grade. (This description also applies to AP European History)
