About Me
I have been teaching for a total of 30 years and have a B.S. in Education from Eastern Illinois University. I have taught at Danville High School in Danville, Illinois, at Kingwood High School in Kingwood, Texas, at Round Valley Middle School and Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School in New Jersey, at Klein High School in Spring, Texas, and have been at Memorial High School for the past seven years.
My husband and I live in the Midtown area of Houston with our three cats. Our son, now 34, lives and works in Amsterdam, and our daughter, now 33, lives and works in Sydney, Australia. We are huge sports fans, especially when it comes to the University of Texas since both of our children graduated from there. I am originally from a small farming community in Illinois.
I was given a wonderful opportunity by Memorial High School to study at Oxford University in England for AP Studies as well as AP course work at Rice University. I was so pleased to be honored with the PTA Lifetime Achievement Award in the May of 2012. I love to decorate, cook (when there is time), eat out, and travel.
Teaching has been a passion for me since fourth grade, and I enjoy trying to enlighten students and challenge them to strive for their best. My motto for them is: Find something to be passionate about in life!
