About Me

  • Graduate from Southwest Texas State 2001 with a Bachelors in Liberal Arts.

  • Began teaching in 2003-2004 and coaching in 1998.

Class Assignments & Homework

The grading scale will be

20% for daily and homework -LATE WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

30% for quizes

50% for tests. - 

Students will begin to receive regular assignments that will supplement their learning.  Though not every assignment is for a grade, they are required to do them all in order to master each objective.

 NONFICTION -Feel free to download any and all of the material available. 

1. Nonfiction terms - There will be a quiz AND eventually a test over the nonfiction terms. Make sure to study these terms and know how they relate to the subject.

2.  Advertisements and persuasive techniques worksheet - The sheet is called Techniques:Not Just Something Used in Writing.

3. Color Symbolism in Advertising - Understanding the subtle uses of color in advertisments.

4. Reading Selections for this section include "The Lost Boys" pg 592, "I Have a Dream" pg 662, "Testimony Before the Senate" pg 672, "How Private is Your Private Life" pg 682, and "The Privacy Debate" pg 688.

5. Nonfiction Review for Test -This is a review with questions.

Students will not be allowed to turn in homework that is late. For major projects the penalty will be a 10 point deduction per calendar day.  If the student has an excused absence then they will not be penalized.
